Sharlene send us this weather website. The best and most functional I know so far.

The webadress is
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/zoa/mwmap3.php?map=usa
Bring up the map by a click on the link or the small image here,
mouse over any airport, and
get an instant readout of WX conditions….
Worth to put this in your favorites!
Robert Caldwell send all our members the new issue of our Newsletter. Here is what’s inside for our friends who are not on the mailing-list (as “not yet”-members and members from other chapters):
Enjoy & stay up to date. Click here, for this edition, – or the buttons at the left side for all other Newsletters. The actual one, as all the last NLs since years.
There will be no VMC this year anymore. But most meteorologists are promising a lot of sun for the next year of 2010. So, – we all have to wait.
BTW there is a Fly-In in Gilmer Jan-2. Click to Events.

The 25th annual “Reklaw” Flying M Ranch Fly-In will be Oct. 23-24-25, the 4th Saturday weekend of October. It is also the 17th annual South Central Cub Migration, the International Stinson Club Fly-In, and the fly-in campout. We will have a special little gift this year for everyone who registers. Due to ongoing price increases, the registration and food fees will be going up this year a couple bucks each. (We are very concerned about keeping this fly-in affordable, and strive to keep the fly-in finances at break-even self-sustaining.) Last year the food costs left us behind, and we’ll need to make it up this year. This is still a Ma-Pa Fly-In, By David and Marcia Mason. Our volunteers are very important to us, and we will be needing someone to help with the Saturday lunch this year, and all the other meals for serving and cleanup. We need to have someone helping with the parking and other issues, like keeping paper in the porta-johns, doing setups, and especially this year, policing for rogue campfires… (last year we found 4 hot fires still not doused out after everyone left on Sunday….) and of course, cleanup. The weekend before, the help and fix-it weekend, is Oct. 17-18. We will be providing lunch for everyone who comes to help out, rain or shine.
The web site is not up to speed yet, but stay tuned to www.reklawflyin.com for more information.
