Our New President …

Greetings Everyone !
Let me say right up front….I did not take any campaign contributions nor spend any of my personal funds to get (railroaded) elected as your new President for the next term.(Did he say two years??)
Garnet (and Melinda) have set the bar high along with help from Ken, Harold, Steve, Bill, Robert, and Bart. Sue and I realized quickly that we will have to wear many hats. Stop and think about it. We will have to fly, organize, cook, eat, make decisions, fly, clean, plan, build, fly, eat and be present and responsive at any function we have..
Usually, I do not make New Year Resolutions until after Super Bowl Sunday. This way, I do not break as many within the first week of the New Year…… A few things I have been thinking about: I think we should resolve to add new members and make sure we keep our present members involved. We have a great resource available to us. The talents of our members. I am sure we have a vast array of talent represented by our members. If you or your spouse have experience in certain areas, let us know. Whether it be flying, fabric work, welding, construction, painting, music, photography, cooking, speaking…whatever; let us hear from you.
I also would like to move along on the con-struction of a pavilion at 07F. I think we will all agree, a covered meeting place would benefit us and our guests. We may even need to look at a project. ( Maybe an electric plane..Ha) Of course we will continue the much debated Young Eagles Program. I think Sue is also going to start a “Telephone Committee” to call our member who do not have computers and i-phones, about upcoming events or needs.(Believe me, she knows how to talk on the phone). She will be calling on some of you for help.. Well, that covers some of the stuff I have on my mind (you cannot publish some of my thoughts..thank goodness) Just a little trivia: My first plane I bought was in 1983. It was a 1946 Luscombe. All metal with a rebuilt engine and new glass. I paid $3500. for it. Flew it around West Texas and loved it. After about a year, I sold it for $4500 and moved “up” to a Cub…
Thanx, Arnold, Sue and Abby
