Went to see FLYBOYS last night. Don’t waste your money. The newspaper rated it D+ and I think they were too generous with their praise.
The thing is a cartoon. There is no attempt at historical accuracy at all. It’s as much about the Lafayette Escadrille as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was. At least that was based on a historical legend, this thing is just BS. The airplanes are all wrong, the flying is impossible to the extreme and the situations are, to put it charitably, unlikely. All in all a big disappointment.
