Reklaw, large pictures

I revised my opinion: we have enough webspace, even for the pictures of the Reklaw Fly-In with the unreduced resolution. You can download them from our download-section beneath. All the images are in one large zip-file. Be aware of 18 MB. No problem for broadband, but it takes 2:30 hours for a normal phoneline!
Anyway: if you want to print them and show them to friends, this would be a good quality. Enjoy.

Reklaw pictures …

… are now published, some errors already corrected, some more images included. See Pictures and then click to Reklaw, or here.
Sorry, a downloadfile with all the unreduced pictures is too much for our webspace. But you can get a set of larger (= better) images after Thanksgiving, when I have broadband again. If you want to receive then an email with that about 16 MB, simply send me a note. Just click here.

Reklaw records

Reklaw was never so colorful, great and beautiful and the weather was perfect
Friday already 250 planes arrived and at the evening 430 meals were served
Saturday the breakfast-line was 2 hours long! 460 breakfasts were served and later 560 lunchs!. There must be 450 - 500 planes present. This time the east-overflow parking lot had to be used the first time in the reklaw-history! Sometimes up to 10 planes were waiting for departure.
In the evening, after dinner, a lot of awards were presented. the longest distance, the oldest/newest pilot etc. It is a shame, Im ‘unable to mention all these outstanding people and their planes by name. With one exception:

Denny Renwick got the “Personal Choice Award from Red & Johnnie Deel” looking for a fun plane. Apparently the “judges” walked around looking at all the planes and when speaking to an unsuspecting Denny about his Aeronca he described it as “nothing fancy, just fun” and thus the award.
Of course that is too modest. We all know the top mechanical skills and the extra clean workquality of all what is Denny touching. Gratulations.
ps - much more picures from Reklaw soon

Reklaw 2005 Update

Dave Mason mentioned it in our Thursday-Chapter-Meeting:
Please no Generators in the tent-area and no generators in the RV-parking-area north of the hangar. In the RV-parking-area south of the hangars, you can use generators.
Now, there is also a PDF-file about Reklaw-2005 in our public download-area. Same as he send out the usual way by (US-) mail. If you load it down, please stay patient. 540 kB take a little time …

former enemies

Well, while the Snowbirds were preforming in Houston last weekend, a F-4 and a MiG-17 were at the same airport at the same time. I did get word that this has only happen 6 times before and both aircraft were each others enemy. The other amazing part about this is both of these aircraft are civilian owned and operated !
